Welcome Speakers

We appreciate your taking part as a speaker in our CME activity. Your participation will undoubtedly contribute to the overall success of this conference.

This page has been created to assist you with the required materials regarding issues of compliance and conflict of interest. It also provides important information regarding traveling for Yale and reimbursement of travel expenses.

Compliance Issues

As part of our compliance responsibilities to the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, attached are several documents in reference to the CME activity. We require that these forms are completed and returned to us prior to the event so that full disclosure may be made to the audience:

  1. Conflict of Interest: Please send via email a copy of your presentation to be included in the syllabus for this activity. Your presentation must be reviewed by the Course Director prior to the activity so that compliance regarding conflict of interest may be met. Therefore, our office needs your presentation at least 2 weeks prior to the conference date in order to have it vetted and printed in a timely manner. If you have a large file please send it through the Yale file transfer system.
  2. Faculty Disclosure Form: Please complete, sign, and return to the CME office via fax (203-785-3083).
  3. Disclosure Slide: Attached is a PowerPoint slide which serves as a “friendly reminder” to all presenters to disclose all pertinent information to the audience; kindly insert this slide at the beginning of your presentation and edit accordingly.

Presentation Tips

  • All presentations MUST be HIPPA-COMPLIANT and free of commercial bias. Specifically, please do not mention patients by name and be sure that any patient in a photo/video cannot be identified.
  • Dark letters (black or blue) on a light background (white) always look best. Copies of slides will be included in the syllabus.
  • All font sizes should be at least 22 or 24 point, except for citations, which can be as small as 14 to 16 point. Generally, “the bigger and bolder, the better.”
  • As in any lecture, keeping slide messages simple and straightforward is always a good idea. Too much information on one slide will detract from your presentation.

If you have any questions or require any additional information please do not hesitate to contact YaleCME at 203-785-4578.
