CME Conference

2nd Annual Scientific Symposium on Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis and Gadolinium-Containing Contrast Agents
Internal Medicine, Diagnostic Radiology, Dermatology

The association between Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis (NSF) and the administration of Gadolinium-Containing Contrast Agents (GCCA) for Magnetic Resonance (MR) imaging has already affected clinical practice and the use of enhanced MR imaging. This second symposium will address the latest developments in NSF, including mechanism of disease, clinical approaches and risk reduction, from both US and European perspectives.

 
The program is multi-disciplinary and will have experts from many fields including Dermatology, Dermatopathology, Diagnostic Radiology, Nephrology and Rheumatology from Yale as well as from other US and European institutions.
 
Participants who attend this conference will be able to:
  • Review the latest diagnosis, clinical and epidemiological information about Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis (NSF)
  • Recognize the link between NSF and gadolinium-containing contrast agents
  • Describe the potential mechanisms leading to NSF and new therapies
  • Discuss the current strategies to reduce risk and the recommendations from US and European work groups

Accreditation

The Yale School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians.
